How to sell the knowledge in your business on the net
small business accounting software
I make instructional videos like the one above for business owners and their teams who are using our system to replace small business accounting software such as Quickbooks (the one above took me about an hour). Selling information online has been around for years, here I show and walk you through the easiest way to infuse your skills into digital content and sell it to a worldwide audience of internet users. The optimum approach is to focus on creating and selling your own product as all of the income you make will be yours and not have to be shared with others.
The arrival and unprecedented success of the iPhone and iPod has opened a gateway to a gigantic worldwide market of people consuming video and audio podcast consumers. These platforms are absolutely brilliant for selling, promoting and building a reputation for whatever information products you have in mind, regardless of whether its how to upgrade your airline seat or replace your small business accounting software.
The first thing you need to understand is how to prepare your knowledge or content so as you can turn it into video, don’t worry its quite simple. The best way to create a plan or storyboard for your video is to use a slide making tool like Microsoft powerpoint or Apple Keynote, if you are familiar with these already then you are off to a great start. In case you are wondering how much this is going to cost I should say that you can create your storyboard, produce your video and get it to your target market without spending any money what so ever.
My favourite tool for producing videos for viewing on YouTube or downloading as a podcast, Quicktime movie or Windows Media Player format is Camtasia studio from TechSmith, they provide a load of really good tutorials that will teach and inspire you on how to make good videos (whatever you do watch all of these first and DO NOT download the trial yet). As I said don’t download the Camtasia software yet as you want to maximise your use of the thirty day trial to get your idea fleshed out and be familiar with the tools.
In the next article I will publish on this blog (with the owners permission) I will walk you through how I create a storyboard using the small business accounting software video as the patient or the living example of how to create videos that compel people to act.
